There is a marker there placed by the IN Dept of Natural Resources, that states: "This cemetery is the original site of St Johns Lutheran Church, established Sep 25, 1847. The site was once a part of the barrens landscape that occurred over thousands of acres in Harrison County at the time it was settled. The cemetery contains dozens of species of the original barrens vegetation from that earlier time, and it is being managed for their benefit and perpetuation."
