'Here are my thoughts regarding her parents:
After more than a year of searching nearly every line of Jackson that was feasibly possible, I finally stumbled upon a John G. (Gibson?) Jackson who appears to be the son of Samuel Jackson Jr. (23 Jan 1758 to 6 Jun 1834). As nearly all of Samuel's children migrated west to Missouri, Indiana and Illinois, I found one of his children, this John G. Jackson, who appears the only one that landed short of the states mentioned above. He settled in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee and married and had a family. He was the only Jackson that I could find of any record who was in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee at this early time. President Andrew Jackson was the only Jackson that I could find there before 1800.
.
I hypothesize that Elizabeth Jackson was born to Samuel Jackson Jr. in Stokes County, North Carolina instead of Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee. I do not know of any record which supports Elizabeth being born in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee, and if she was, who could possibly be her parents other than Andrew Jackson. I now believe that Elizabeth migrated west with the rest of her siblings and settled with her brother John G. Jackson in Nashville, Davidson a short time before 1810. Samuel Jackson Jr's 1800 US Census lists two white female under 10 years of age. His daughter Sarah Jackson (1791-1851) would account for one of them. I believe that Elizabeth was the other. Elizabeth met Abijah Cornelius Ross there and married him probably sometime around 1810 to 1812. Abijah Ross was born there and living there prior to Elizabeth's arrival.
.
Having Elizabeth Jackson being the daughter of Samuel Jackson Jr. would make her the 1st cousin one time remove from Preident Andrew Jackson. This would then coincide with family tradition which has claimed that she was a cousin of Andrew Jackson.
.
If anyone has any more information regarding this John G. Ross and his family and his arrival in Nashville, Davidson please make a comment. I am looking for accurate information, so that what I posit here can either be substantiated or disproven.'
