Narrative
Duncan was Lay Abbot of Dunkeld, to the north of Perth in what subsequently became the Scottish county of Perthshire. He fought in the Battle of Duncrub circa 965, killed in action fighting for Colin, representative of a rival royal line of Aodh, when the latter was defeated by Duff, eldest son of Malcolm I, King of the Scots.
