"Daughter of Ephriam/Ephraim? Merritt and Agnes Ragland, soon after the birth of Elizabeth & William's son in 1780 William Rose volunteered as an ensign under Captain Stephen Merritt, his brother in law as Stephen is the brother of Elizabeth.

I have looked for many years for her grave in alot of different cemeteries where I thought she may be buried at but I never found her grave stone so I started going through the record books in the Whitley County, KY Genealogy room and I finally found the info that tells me where she is buried at and exactly why I could never find her stone.

I did not know it but I have walked the grounds where she is buried at since I was a small child, she was buried in this Rose Family cemetery but since then her stone has became illegible.

I have asked many older surviving Rose family members that have no internet access & wouldn't touch a computer if they did have access to one that told me yes, they do remember an old black iron fence being in this cemetery but it had been taken down long ago because this cemetery for a long time had been completely overgrown, it took many saws & alot of effort to get the cemetery all cleaned back up so people could start visiting the graves there, the black iron fence had been taken down because it was in bad need of repair & no fence was ever put back in it's place where it had once been.

Now that I know without a doubt that she is indeed buried here along with my father, my grandmother and so many other of my Rose family members I am having a marker made in her name and I am going to place it near the center of the cemetery where the genealogy records stated that she was buried at as I know there is some plain field stones near the center & I believe this is the most probable spot in this cemetery where she was buried at."
