Narrative
William held the office of Butler of Scotland from 1153 to 1214. In 1174 he was a hostage for the Treaty of Falaise. Circa 1178 he was granted charter of the feudal Barony of Erroll in the Tay Estuary, Perthshire. He was Envoy to England in 1199.
