Hinkles and Hanrahans

Christopher Beeler was a bondsman for Joseph's Beeler's administration of the estate of John Hutcheson on 23 September 1777 in Yohogania County, Virginia. Christopher had a warrant for land in 1780 in what is now Perry Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was on the ill fated Sandusky expedition into Ohio with Colonel William Crawford in 1782. (Col. Crawford and many of his men were captured, tortured and killed by Indians.) His actual migration date to Kentucky with his family is unclear. He is noted in the Nelson County, Kentucky Court Minutes as "being a proper person for Captain of the Militia" on July 26 1786. Included in the list is his first cousin, Charles Beeler, son of Frederick, as a Lieutenant. Christopher may have left his family in Pennsylvania during this time. He did receive a final patent for Fayette County land in 1788; but sold it. "Christopher Bealer (sic) is taxed on 200 acres of land in Nelson County, Kentucky in 1792."
