Narrative

Brian may have been the most famous of all the Kings of Ireland, and certainly one of the most ferocious. His many battles against the Danes as well as against the other Kings on the island are repeated in poems, songs and writings of the time. His defeat of the Danes resulted in a time of peace, and was the last time Ireland was seriously threatened by the Danes. He was known as Brian Boroimhe or Brian Boru in English, sometimes also referred to as Brian mac Kennedy.
