Narrative
John held the office of Constable of Stirling Castle. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1488. He held the office of Justiciar [Scotland] in 1488. He was created 1st Lord Drummond [Scotland] on 29 January 1488. He was envoy to England in 1495. He was envoy to England from 1511 to 1513. In 1516 he was imprisoned in Blackness Castle and was temporarily deprived of peerage for an assault on Sir William Comyn, Lyon King of Arms.
