Narrative

The death certificate for Patrick lists his home address as 1865 Parker St, Bronx, NY. That is the same address that is shown on David's birth certificate. (Sara's dad) Patrick's occupation at time of death is listed as expressman for the Express Company. Note: expressmen in the early 1900s were deliverymen who generally transported their goods around town by wagon.
The 1920 census showed this family living in an apartment at #201 72nd St, Borough of Manhattan (Bronx was formed later), and Patrick working as a Foreman of the American Railway Express. Listed at the same address was Annie McInery (McInerny?), age 72, listed as aunt, who had immigrated from Ireland in 1873, and also roomer Patrick McMahon, age 32. We must assume that Annie was a widowed sister of one of Patrick's parents. She is also shown as Alien rather than Naturalized citizen of the US.
