Narrative
William held the position of 8th Chief of the Clan Chattan. In 1336 he gained possession of the Barony of Moy from John Pilmore, Bishop of Moray. On 19 March 1347 he obtained a new lease of Rothiemurchus. On 28 February 1359 he received a confirmation of his rights in Glenloy and Loch Arkaig from King David II.
