Muircheartach was styled King of Ulster ‘against opposition. Muircheartach 'Muighe Line', King of Ulster also went by the nick-name of Muircheartach 'Muighe Line' (or in English, 'of Moylinny'). In 1160 he was pretender to northern throne for five years but was killed by Lochlann Mac Lochlainin with four of his sons after winning the Battle of Magh-Luadhat.
