Narrative

Thomas succeeded as the 11th Earl of Warwick [E., 1088] on 12 August 1315. He was appointed Knight in January 1328/29. He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1344. He held the office of Sheriff of Warwickshire and Leicestershire in 1344. He held the office of Marshal of England from February 1343/44 to 1369. He fought in the Battle of Crecy in 1346. He fought in the Siege of Calais in 1346/47. He held the office of Pantler at the King's Coronation. He fought in the Admiral of the Fleet before March 1352/53, from the mouth of the Thames towards the West. He held the office of Constable of the English Army in Gascony. He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Worcestershire. He fought in the Battle of Poitiers in 1356, as commander of the vanguard. Thomas died of the plague.
