Narrative

Sir Ralph succeeded as the 2nd Lord Stafford on 1308-8-12. He campaigned against the Scots and fought in the Battle of Sluys in 1340. He also fought in the Battle of Crecy, and twice fought in a siege of Calais, the last time in 1360. He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter in 1348. He was appointed 1st Earl of Stafford March 5 1350/51.
