Campbell, Horatio Guy 1

Birth Name Campbell, Horatio Guy
Gender male
Age at Death 33 years, 1 month, 5 days

Narrative

From the recollections of John Maxwell Campbell, descendant, and public records:

Horatio Guy served in the Royal Marines (terminal rank Lieutenant), although the Admiralty records indicate he was AWOL in 1861, listed as "Runner." Horatio and Annie Horner had two children before their marriage, and then the third, Colin John Campbell. Shortly thereafter, Horatio died on the 3rd floor of their home at 68 Winchester St, Pimlico, London.
Annie and her children struggled afterwards, and she later remarried to Charles Bourne.
She heard of her son Colin's incarceration in America, and asked her daughter Annie Bourne to write a letter to the warden at Leavenworth Prison asking for leniency. Annie must have been Colin's half-sister.
