Narrative
William Peake was the manager of George Washington's estates at the headwaters of the Occoquan River in Virginia. He is mentioned frequently in Washington's diary, mainly in regards to farming matters and foxhunting. William is also mentioned several times in the Truro Parish Vestry records, where he served as a Vestryman. Peake later sold out his VA holdings and moved to Kentucky.
William's daughter Anna married Ephraim Dicken, who served with distinction during the American Revolution. The Sons of the American Revolution dedicated a marker in Dicken's name at the Old Mulkey Meetinghouse in Tompkinsville, KY, in 2008.
