Narrative
Anne was left widowed with four young children upon her arrival in the New World, after her husband James drowned in Boston Harbor. Anne was not endowed in her father's will, although her sisters and even some servants were. That mystery remains unresolved.
There is a great deal of confusion surrounding the identity of Anne's husband. He is listed as John Harrington on many online genealogies, but the evidence and English records indicate that she married James Harrington, as shown here.
