Narrative

Per the recollections of John Maxwell Campbell, grandson:

Lillian had five sons and a son-in-law serve in WW II - John (LtLG Navy), Melvin (Merchant Marine), Albert (SSGT Army Air Corps), Richard (SSGT Army) and Donald (Army), along with Joseph McDermott, husband of Grace Alice. Donald was killed at the Battle of the Bulge near the end of the war.

The photo attached to the family F1295 was taken in Bellmore, NY, about 1931. The children from left to right are: Dick, Cherry, Albert, Grace, Don, Peg, Lill, John and Melvin.
